Broker's Comments
This boat is a proven, classic design and a true go anywhere live aboard blue water cruiser.
Van de Wiele design, built in Belgium, Thuin, hometown of Michot Fréres Shipyard.
This ketch is clearly constructed for strength and longevity. Matching the dimensions and style of Moitessier’s ‘Joshua’ with a centre cockpit and offset cable driven steering, she is built to sail at any latitude.
Her classic look and a cozy but airy interior make living aboard comfortable for a couple or a family.
A full standing rigging replacement was completed in 2021 along with professional electronics upgrades - SIMRAD/B&G VHF/DSC, chartplotter and AIS transponder/receiver with new antennas. EPIRB and life raft updated until 2025.
Sails were recently inspected and reefing points reinforced.
The equipment is the epitome of a strong, safe and simple setup with optimised electronics and redundant systems while the refit upgrades focused on safety for long distance cruising. The setup with AIRES windvane and CPT electric autopilot as well as the straightforward design, and her ketch rig, make short-handed sailing a reality, as proved by her current owner who has single-handed her 2000+ miles from the Netherlands.
This boat is built to cross oceans or cruise coastal waters, no limits for what or where this boat can take you.
