Broker's Comments

Built for her current owners, who have now been sailing for over 40 years, the design brief was "a high level of comfort in a go-anywhere cruiser" the result was this beautiful round bilge, steel, blue water cruiser built in Port Elizabeth, South Africa under the supervision of the Designer, Dudley Dix, to Lloyds construction certificate standard. Particular attention was applied to corrosion resistance and Zinc epoxy was applied to the hull exterior and epoxy tar applied to the interior after blasting. Fit out took place in Johannesburg by a team of professionals and a project manager.
Twin engines, Twin helm positions, Twin cockpits plus a windlass and anchor that look like they should be on a super tanker, everything was over specified at the build stage and she is equipped with everything that makes extended periods at sea a pleasure.
The solid American white oak interior has 4 double cabins, 2 seating areas and a spacious galley, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, 4 burner stove, A / C, Water maker, Generator Fridge and Freezer etc.
Hydraulic winches and an all furling rig mean she is easily handled by a couple, which has been the case for most of the last 20 years.
Averaging 180 nautical miles / day under sail, the owners consider 160 a very poor day, A maximum distance of 220 nautical miles / day is achievable.
The time has come however, after 20 years aboard and many adventures along the way, for the owners to swallow the anchor and return to dry land. We at Boatshed are proud to offer this exceptional vessel for sale at a very realistic price.
