Broker's Comments

These don’t come up very often folks – so get a move on! Cheoy Lee built all sorts of boats in Hong Kong from the ‘50’s through to the ‘80’s, and this example was built in 1966, designed by Maurice DeClerc.

Heavy displacement, long keel, loads of wood, a really classic looking yacht. I can’t help thinking of a large version of the Nicholson 32.

Down below the owner has ensured she is well appointed and comfortable – he has purposely retained the original features, but enhanced them with new upholstery, a new cooker, and various other features to bring her up to date.

The navigation kit is modern – depth, wind and of course a chart plotter.

On deck, again the owner has kept some of the original fittings – the stainless steel boom gallows is a great bonus, and stanchion bases look great. The boom has had a new gooseneck, and the genoa was new in 2013.

There is a active Cheoy Lee owners Association, and the boats are to be found all over the globe – testament to their longevity and seaworthiness!
