Broker's Comments
This Catamaran a must see! and owner is ready for it to find a new home.
Freshwater-moored (for the last 18 years) means this vessel shows very well. The large sundeck aft of the cockpit and trampolines on the foredeck ensure optimal trim for performance as well as comfort. The strong composite construction reduces weight, increases stiffness and insulates the hull for year-round use. The sport rig option provides a taller rig, and offers enhanced performance.
Multiple hatches, port-lights and windows provide a very open feel to the accommodations. Deck and interior space rival some 50' monohull boats providing an excellent summer cruising experience and great live-aboard potential.
E-Z roller Mainsail furling system is not in use and not recommended by seller hence the full batten main currently installed.
Owner's comments:
" Motoring today at 2850 RPM my speed was 6.4 knots. The GPS was reading about .3k above that. Seems everybody obsesses about speed when it comes to sailboats, catamarans in particular. However, what is most important to me is pointing ability, because it makes no sense to be 1-2 knot faster if you can’t tack as high going to weather. That’s just geometry.
No daggerboards to worry about, the Solaris has the triangular hull and keelsons to minimize windage. Try that on a F-P, very frustrating trying to head into the wind in the ~40 footer I chartered out of Anacortes. She slid sideways.
All cats get wave pounding, some more than others. The nacelle decreases it on the Solaris imo, and enables surfing."
Excellent insight from a knowledgeable owner!
This vessel was hauled in May 2018 at which time the sail drives were serviced.
