This 32' Trawler was designed by the renowned Halvorsen family -- building boats since 1887. The 32' Halvorsen is modeled after the successful Island Gypsy 32' - also built by Halvorsen. Harvey Halvorsen took the time-tested Island Gypsy design and made improvements to the layout, styling and (most importantly) the build quality by manufacturing the boat in the Jet-Tern Marine yard in Canton, China. The Jet-Tern yard is more well-known for its production of the Selene expedition trawler line.
The Halvorsen 32' Gourmet Cruiser reflects its heritage with classic trawler lines and semi-displacement hull design. Her 12' beam, hard chines, deep keel, and large rudder set allow you to cruise with comfort and dock it precisely.
The interior styling of the boat matches the exterior classic trawler lines with its teak/holly sole and Burmese teak furniture with satin finish. Large windows allow for plenty of natural light, giving the interior a warm, inviting feel.

Interior Layout:
Upon entering the saloon through the companionway door the L-shaped galley is to the starboard side. This Gourmet Cruiser features a two burner propane stove, sink, refrigerator/freezer combo, and plenty of storage in its galley. Also, the helm seat hinges forward to reveal more Corian counter space for meal preparation and serving.
The L-shaped settee is across from the galley on the portside. It has a hi-lo dining table that converts the settee to a double berth to accommodate guests. Underneath the settee there are two storage areas, plus an insulated ice box (with drain) that is handy for extended cruising.
The lower helm was designed to be the primary helm - an ideal design for all-season cruising in the Pacific Northwest. Many pocket trawlers lack a forward-facing saloon seat for the co-captain, but this Halvorsen trawler has an extendable helm seat that converts the lower helm into a double seat.
Down three steps from the saloon is the forward stateroom. In comparison to other pocket trawlers on the market, this stateroom is surprisingly large. It has an island queen berth with drawer storage beneath. The island berth is flanked by two hanging lockers with auto lights. The head compartment is on the portside - it has an electric flush toilet and a sink/vanity area. The starboard shower compartment is molded fiberglass with a removable teak grate. This keeps the head compartment free of moisture and condensation and also available for use while someone is showering. A stand-alone head and shower stall is another desired feature that is a rare feature in boats of this size, setting this trawler apart from the pack.
The interior is heated with a newly installed Webasto forced air furnace with 3 ducts. It is ducted to the saloon, forward stateroom and the head.
Exterior layout:
The cockpit is spacious for a 32' boat and has a built-in seat, plus lazarette and cockpit locker storage. Boarding is made easy from the gunwales or through the transom door depending on the height of the dock. This Halversen trawler has a hinged swim platform, allowing you to fit it in a smaller slip and save on moorage costs.
The walkarounds are much wider than one would expect due to the flared gunwales. The foredeck has non-skid fiberglass, a samson post, and heavy-duty cleats.
The flybridge is accessed by a ladder in the cockpit. It has a wide helm seat with nice visibility and a double passenger seat adjacent. The radar mast can be folded down to fit it into covered moorage.

Broker's Comments
Modeled from the proven Island Gyspy 32, the Halvorsen 32 Gourmet Cruiser has an improved build quality and new design features that make it a very attractive small trawler. This "pocket trawler" has big boat features such as an island queen berth, a spacious cockpit and saloon, good-sized walk-arounds, and two helm stations - all in a 32' boat! With all these features, it is not your average picnic boat - this is a "Gourmet Cruiser!" Enjoy the scenery whether you are at the helm, in the galley or sitting at the settee - the large windows all around provide a 360 degree view. Powered with a single 330HP Cummins Diesel with only 475 hours, this trawler is barely broken in. With a Side Power bow thruster and deep draft keel, she has excellent dockside manners. She is well outfitted with radar, autopilot, chartplotter, new diesel forced air heat, new 2400W inverter, windlass, and tender with 6HP outboard. The current owner has kept it in covered moorage - the gelcoat and bright work are in very nice condition. He has taken meticulous care of the vessel - every service and every cruise has been well documented in his owner's log. She even has new bottom paint and zincs.
This Halvorsen 32 Gourmet Cruiser has an excellent equipment list, a great floor plan and is priced to sell in today's market. Hurry on this one!
