Hull is modified "V" design with double chines. Below the waterline the hull is solid GRP with balsa core above the waterline primarily for insulation. Engine stringers are GRP without wood coring. “The double chine allows the bow to strike a wave with the first chine and flatten out that wave, leaving a soft feel to the ride". “This also helps throw the resulting bow wave outboard, making the boat very dry.”
From the cockpit it’s an easy step down to the swim step, by way of stairwells on either side. That makes the stern a pleasant area for swimming, diving or relaxing in the sun.A walkway leads forward through the seating area to the foredeck and bow pulpit, eliminating the side walkways that are the traditional method of reaching this area. That leaves room for an expanded saloon and galley area below.

New survey in August 2011. placed boat value at almost 10% higher than the current asking price.

Broker's Comments

This Carver 380 Santego is a very rare find here in the Northwest in that it has twin diesels. These low-hour, naturally aspirated engines will provide many years of low-cost cruising for her next owners. With factory A/C and heat pump this boat can easily be used year around. The open bridge design is perfect for entertaining and safe movement about the boat. With bimini and isenglass enclosure you can navigate the Northwest through all seasons. The wide salon is well-appointed with updated fabrics. It offers a mini-bar with ice maker across from the galley. The large swim platform has steps on both sides to the cockpit making swimming or sunbathing easy. The owners may consider a part trade for a trailerable fishing boat suitable for ocean fishing in coastal waters.
